Look what’s happend now…

I’ve not been surprised at all following the news that the ICC have let the umpires reduce the break in rain affected ODI’s. This of course is following from what happened in the second ODI between England and New Zealand and the no result saga.

The rule now states that umpires can reduce the break to 10 minutes if they like but it can’t be any less than 10 or more than 30 minutes. A reduced break would of certainly made way for a positive result in the second ODI.

After the match New Zealand have started accusing England of deliberately bowling a slow over rate, as mentioned in a comment in my last post.

Whatever happens in this series, which I thought would be a quiet one and one which would of shown one day international cricket the door, has been a series of drama, Pietersons reverse sweep and now this, looks set to continue. England played the better cricket in the first ODI but New Zealand out played them in the second.
