South Africa have shown the importance of winning a test match. This 2nd test was there’s, like the 1st test match was India’s the only difference being that South Africa took 20 important wickets to win it. India failed to do this in the first test and they now find themselves 1-0 down in the series. Their batting resistance in the second innings was based around Ganguly who scored 87 valuable runs. I thought India were an innings behind in this game. They were also going to struggle after being blown away in the first innings. I come back to my original point; the importance of taking 20 wickets.
The third test match has set it up to be a cracker. Which India will turn up? The 500+ score side or the 100- side? The South African camp is going to be a happy one. They were out played in the first test, mostly thanks to Sehwag’s 319, and now they’ve come into this second test they’ve caught India off guard twice and won the match. Suddenly they’ve got a one nil lead going into the third and final test.
India will be hoping that there first test batting turns up and not their second test 76 all out of 20 overs. The third test starts on the 11th April and it should shape these two sides for a while. South Africa will be looking to win the series and go happily into the sun set with something that’s very hard to get; a series win in India. India will be looking to thrash South Africa and draw the series to regain some pride.
